The Miami Heat have announced that they will retire the number ten jersey of former point guard Tim Hardaway before their season opener on October 28 against the Knicks. Hardaway will become the second Heat player to have his jersey retired, joining former teammate Alonzo Morning. Its very fitting that Tim will get his jersey retired before the Heat play the Knicks. Durng his stint in Miami, the Knicks were the biggest and most hated rival of the Heat. Hardaway played 13 seasons with four different teams in the league. Those were the Warriors, Heat, Mavericks, and Pacers. He made it to five All-Star games and was named on the All-NBA teams five times as well. Once on the first team, and four times on the second. He became the first heat player to receive All-NBA honors after leading the team to franchise record 61 wins during the 96-97 season. He captured two gold medals during his stellar career. Once during the 2000 Sydney Olympics, and another during the 1994 World Championships. All in all, it was a great career and he deserves this honor.
