With the Top four teams in the Eastern Conference only amassing gaudy stockpiles of talent in the off-season, the Miami Heat who were bounced out of the first round of the NBA playoffs last spring in seven games by the Atlanta Hawks have remained stagnant, not really making any noise this offseason. The Heat were led last season by a resurgent Dwayne Wade as he put together a riveting career year across the board in all major statistical categories, but the question on every Heat fan's mind going into this season has to be, "Will D-Wade leave for greener pastures after this season as a coveted free agent?" While that question remains to be answered the Heat can embrace him as their franchise player for at least one more season, but I would not expect the Heat to improve any or at all in the wins column or playoff brackets.
